The Government argued against the release of individuals from immigration detention in the High Court today in the matter of ASF17 v Commonwealth of Australia.

The Court has now retired to consider arguments.

Community safety continues to be our highest priority and we will continue to take all necessary steps to keep Australians safe.

The Government is unable to comment further, as this matter is still before the Court.
