I will be attending the Australia UK Leadership Forum in London this week, to hold high-level discussions with leading British ministers and policy makers.
The Forum will see delegates from both nations discussing issues such as trade, investment, economic cooperation, social cohesion and cultural cooperation.
During the Forum, I will be delivering an opening address and leading discussions in a session focusing on increasing social cohesion, social trust and social capital in both countries.
Throughout the week, I will be holding talks with a number of key figures relating to my portfolio area, including the Minister of State for Immigration, the Rt Hon Caroline Nokes, the Minister of State for Countering Extremism, Baroness Susan Williams, and the head of the UK Review into Opportunity and Integration, Dame Louise Casey.
I particularly welcome the opportunity to engage with UK leaders on social cohesion and migration matters.
Australia and Britain have a strong and dynamic relationship underpinned by our shared heritage, trade and security ties, common values and closely-aligned strategic outlook.
I look forward to discussing Australia’s successful model of multiculturalism and how both countries are managing our respective migration programs and integration measures.
